Today’s digital age means we’re forever needing to record and document everything that we do or are a part of .
If you’ve not uploaded it to your socials, did it really happen?
But at what expense does this come?
Are we really enjoying being in the moment whilst angling our phones for the perfect shot?
Put simply – we can’t be.
Look at any concert and you’ll see an abundance of phone screens blocking people’s view of the main stage. The operators all watching the act through their 5-inch screen, having paid hundreds of pounds to be there. All for what?
Nobody wants to re-watch the concert through your shaky video – that’s why we have YouTube. So put your phone down.
Put it down and take your eyes up. Be present in the moment.
And no matter how many times you may watch your video again, you’ll never have that moment to be in again.
So live it whilst you have it.
Very well said! It’s so true. People don’t just enjoy things anymore, they are either watching through their screen as you mentioned or they are ignoring what is going on around them in favour of some app on their phone. Either way they are looking at their phone and not interacting with anyone. It’s really quite sad.
