Pushing all of your chips into the middle can be one of the more frightening aspects of playing poker.
Unless of course you’re confident that you’re onto a winner!
So why do we find it so difficult to commit fully in life when we know that the outcomes are likely positive?
Don’t get me wrong, of course it’s concerning when you decide to take the plunge to start a new venture, pick up a new hobby or ask that person on a date. But if we don’t try, we’ll never know!
What we need to do instead is to rework our thinking, ensure that we’re confident we’re onto a shot of a winner and commit to whatever it is that’s up for grabs.
Limping in never created anything good in life; instead committing with vigour, determination and resilience is what gives us the chance to change life from good to great.
So back yourself, know what you want from the opportunity and seize it with both hands.
If you’re not going all-in, it’s only a matter of time before somebody else takes the opportunity that was available to you.
